The first season of Basketball Wives L.A. lived up to its entertainment billing. Drama! Drama! Drama! That’s what fuels this West Coast in-your-face reality show of hot chicks that have issues with their present or former basketball “boos” illuminating lives. Jackie Christie has taken on the role of peace maker or in many episodes “a constant troublemaker!” Jackie is a control freak with good intentions but an over aggressive persona that fuels the rift of the rest of the cast members.

Gloria Govan, first introduced to us in the “Basketball Wives Miami” show, has brought video vixen, Draya Michele into the fold, hoping she’ll mesh with the ladies of Basketball Wives L.A. Draya is a sexy, 20 something model turned actress that has the entire cast jealous and none trusting of her intention or motives of appearing on the show. Laura Govan, sister of Gloria and fiancée of Gilbert Arenas and Imanai Showalter, ex-fiancée of Stephen Jackson have some very serious issues about Draya’s past as a urban video model and treatment of her little son. A lot of inaccurate news accounts revealed that Draya missed treated her son and placed him in a dangerous living situation.

Malaysia Prago, wife of Atlanta Hawks Jannero Pargo is a chocolate brown piece of eye candy that has that has had her share of run-ins with Laura Govan. Laura has anger management issues with her current baby daddy that heighten her distaste for Malaysia “two faced” approach at bonding with the cast. Malaysia and Laura get into a “sista girl” type fight resulting in both women landing punches before being separated. Malaysia was “no punk” standing up to Laura’s misplaced anger. Basketball Wives L.A. takes us on a journey into the coping mechanism of these beautiful ladies as they try to workout all their issues and drama in front of millions of viewers weekly. Bulldozed in the press for being overbearing and controlling in her relationship, she’s not one to hold her tongue, even with other players’ wives. She loves the spotlight and seems unfazed by her reputation as the polarizing figure in the world of basketball wives.

Gloria Govan, the ex-fiancée of LA’s Matt Barnes, may be fairly new to the LA scene, but not to viewers of Basketball Wives. After relocating to Los Angeles and surviving Barnes’ first season playing for the most recognizable team in thein the world, she’s keeping busy both as mom to her twins and taking on a new challenge: easing into the Southern California lifestyle. Pursuing her modeling and acting career, she has stepped up her game and her image.

Laura Govan, sister of Gloria Govan, may be rebuilding her life with just her kids and brand new baby to keep her company, but she’s never alone as Govan family ties run strong. Like her sister Gloria, she has no trouble speaking her mind or sticking up for family when things get rough. She is the fiancée of Gilbert Arenas.

Malaysia Pargo, wife of Atlanta’s Jannero Pargo, grew up in Compton, California before meeting her husband at 22. On being a basketball wife, she confesses that she always has her guard up and that one
has to be a strong individual in order to live this lifestyle because it will “swallow you up and spit you out.”

Imani Showalter, ex-fiancee of player Stephen Jackson and mother of three, has fought hard against being stigmatized since parting ways with her famous ex and isn’t shy to confess that she hasn’t dated since. A former singer with a New York girl group, Imani says she’s in the process of rediscovering what makes her happy again.

Draya Michele is currently a model and aspiring actress and has been tied to many big name male entertainers and sports figures in Los Angeles with several music videos and magazine covers to her credit. A controversial beauty with a history of dating players and stripping, she has also dated Chris Brown.
