“Summer Heat Issue” darling, Deanna Nelson reloads with more images and an even more in depth look at how the African beauty thinks outside the box with modeling and her beauty. Deanna strives to deliver the “Wow Factor” when it comes to taking images so we were more than happy when she opted to re up for the July/August “Scandal Issue.”  In our book, this self proclaimed “ugly duckling” is nothing short of a “sexy swan.”

SB: What obstacles did you overcome in becoming a model?

DN: “I pride myself on thinking outside the box when it comes to my beauty. The chances that I take in my photos heighten the visual sex appeal that heightens my “Wow” factor. The reason why I’m so comfortable with my body is because it took me a long time to love and accept myself. I was teased and bullied so bad in school because I was so skinny. I thought I was such the ugly duckling. Eventually I just got tired and started getting my confidence together and taking those negative comments flipping them into something positive and motivating. Now nobody can bring me down, I show myself off — my alluring beauty and my curves.”

SB: What is the meaning of your sexy tattoo?

DN: “My tattoo is the head of a stallion which represents beauty. While attending classes at International Academy of Design and Technology a brilliant graphic artist approached me to draw my tattoo for free. My tattoo is located on my right side of my waist line; it looks so cute peeking out from under my low rise jeans.”

SB: What modeling accomplishments launched your career?

DN: “I had the pleasure of actually teaching modeling for three years to new talent. It was a wonderful experience doing promotional work with DUB magazine, Hair Design magazine where my regional ads were converted to bigger-than-life posters and placed in several hair salons. I can’t forget landing the lead video girl feature in a very popular Detroit artist “Brilliance” video featuring the New Boyz “Over Here”. Man! That was a wonderful and memorable experience.”
